Liz Kang joined IMPACT as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer in 2019. She is in charge of the development and execution of all legal affairs at IMPACT. Since joining IMPACT, Liz worked on the Freddie Mac PC swap and Re-REMIC transactions, negotiated and closed IMPACT’s inaugural bridge loan fund and executed multiple programmatic loan purchase agreements and servicing agreements with new and existing loan origination partners. Liz also handles all of IMPACT’s SEC compliance, corporate governance, record keeping and employment matters.
Before IMPACT, Liz practiced law in the Global Finance Group at Sidley Austin LLP and later served as in-counsel at tech companies. She received her J.D. from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law in 2009 and LL.B from Seoul National University in 2005. Liz grew up in four countries in three continents, speaks Korean and Spanish, and loves to travel internationally. She is passionate about volunteering in legal affinity groups and local foundations to give back to the community. In her free time, she runs the full family operations, regularly exercises and practices yoga and enjoys quality time with her husband and son.
